The “iChoose” and “Construiește-ți Viitorul!” Guides
In November 2023, Asociația Maxwell România launched the “iChoose” and “Construiește-ți viitorul” guides, innovative educational resources designed to guide middle school and high school students on their personal development journey. The guides are used in schools, are distributed free of charge and are meant to serve as a valuable resource for both students and teachers.
Currently, the two guides are being implemented in 7 counties (Constanța, Bucharest – Sector 6, Argeș, Timiș, Arad, Iași and Mehedinți) by 780 teachers, with 24000 students benefiting. The 16 and 17 lessons, respectively, that make up the guides will be taught to students by the end of the 2023-2024 school year, and this process will continue in the following school year as well. In addition, at the start of next school year, another group of teachers will join this project.
Asociația Maxwell has created a platform, www.maxwelleualeg.ro, to properly manage and monitor how this project is implemented in schools, taking clear measurements of the number of lessons taught, the students involved, and feedback from teachers and students. Separately, a questionnaire with multiple questions was created, which students completed at the start of the project and will complete again at the end, after the last lesson in each of the two guides has been taught. This way, we will have an analysis of the lessons' impact on students in terms of changes in attitude, the development of their skills, and the development of their social-emotional learning competencies.
With the support of local authorities (city halls, county councils, prefectures, universities, DGASPC, etc.) and the County School Inspectorates in the 7 counties, Asociația Maxwell organized press conferences to launch the “iChoose” and “Construiește-ți viitorul” guides, marking a significant step in promoting personal development and leadership among students in Romania.
